This is a story I wrote a very long time ago. I rewrote it many, many times. It was rejected many, many times. Last December, it was published in the third volume of an anthology called Future Visions.
Here’s the blub:
“Ben believes he’s the last true musician. Determined to oppose the degradation of his art, he infiltrates a nanotech megacorporation and makes a desperate attempt to give music one last chance—or at the very least, one last gasp.”
I once cannibalized certain concepts from this story for a Hyland play called MR. NOSEY.
